Privacy policy

Picky Audio does not ask you to create an account and does not collect personal information from visitors. We keep anonymous, aggregated statistics about how the site is used, described below.

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits. It sets no cookies and does not follow you to other websites. For each page view it records the page you were on, the site that referred you, your country and region, and your device and browser type. Visitors are counted using a temporary anonymous identifier that is discarded after 24 hours, so we cannot recognise you on a later visit or build a profile of you.

We also count two things you do on the site: when a link to a retailer is clicked, and when a video is played. Those counts record the page and the product or video involved — never who clicked. We do not record what you type into the search box.

Alongside this we use Vercel Speed Insights, which measures how quickly pages load and respond so we can keep the site fast. It reports timings only, and is subject to the same rules above.

Review pages embed videos from YouTube. Those embeds load only after you choose to play them, and once loaded YouTube may set cookies and collect data under its own privacy policy.

Review pages carry buttons for sharing an article to social networks and messaging apps. They are ordinary links — nothing is loaded from those services unless you use one, and following one takes you to that service under its own privacy policy. Copying the link does not leave your browser at all.

Retailers reached through affiliate links may set cookies to attribute a purchase. That data is handled by the retailer under its own privacy policy, and we never receive your payment details.

Your light or dark theme choice is stored locally in your own browser so the site remembers it. It never leaves your device.

If this site starts collecting anything else — a mailing list, for example — this page will be updated to say so.
